BCS Know How was created with one simple idea in mind, explain the Bowl Championship Series to those who could not understand its complexities.
BCS Know How was launched in 2002, when the college football landscape was held under the rule of an extremely complex and laborious BCS system. The complex math included a category for “Quality Wins” and a funky and almost impossible to understand Strength of Schedule component (SOS).
BCS Know How aimed to help the masses understand exactly what it all meant. You see, when it was launched, its creator was someone people had turned to for help with complex sports questions, and now there was a way for that knowledge to be spread on the internet.
These days, the BCS isn’t sooo complex as it was back then, but it still requires some analysis and thinking to understand exactly why the rankings are as they are.
So here we stand today, with BCS Know How a now respected member of the college football online community, continuing to break down the nuances of college sports’ most complex system for determining a national champion, ready to bring you to an seventh season of know how about the BCS.
